Fall Class Party

Will's preschool class party was today. Mommy and two other mother's hosted the party. We brought in sweet treats and candy bags for the children. It's always fun when children are able to participate in an activity. I put together two pumpkin kits, a Mr. Pirate Pumpkin and Mrs. Clown Pumpkin. It's the same concept as Mr. Potato Head. The kids loved putting them together!

Will tells me this is his best friend, Joslyn! He tells me about her all the time.

Buzz and Sheep Debut

Will and Shelby both wore their costumes out for the first time tonight. Will dressed as Buzz Lightyear and Shelby was a sheep. They both looked great!

Our night of fun started off around 6pm. I got both kids dressed in their costumes. Shelby did not seem happy about wearing hers. She fussed about it, and you could tell she did not want to wear it. I was a little worried as to whether we would make it out as a lamb or if she would just be Shelby. I thought she might change her mind if she saw herself dressed in the mirror. Sure enough.... she giggled and was back to her happy self again! Shelby loves animals, and you could certainly tell she liked how she looked! I knew when I picked this outfit for her, she would come to love it!

Our evening consisted of two fall festivals. Will played games and received lots of candy! He was able to see many friends dressed up tonight too. Everyone had a great time, and it was a perfect evening for outdoor activities!

The next few days are going to be busy! We have a couple more festivals to attend, a preschool party on Friday, and a party at my sister's on Saturday. There will be many more pictures to post. So stay tuned!

Bath Time Giggles

I have not taken bath time pictures in a while so I felt lead to do that tonight. Will and Shelby both enjoy bath time! They have such a good time together. You would think a four year old and 15 month old have very little in common. Not when it comes to these two energized little people!

Shelby is growing up so fast. She had her 15 month check up last week. She weighs 23 pounds, which puts her in the 60th percentile. She is very smart for her age. I say she is much like her brother. She can do several things on command (e.g. shut the door, throw things in the trash, say please and thank you, and point to parts of her body (eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, feet, hands, hair, and belly button)). She understands a lot of what we say. I love her super cute smile and beautiful dimples! She is definitely a mommy's girl!

Will is super funny and always full of happiness. He is learning a lot in preschool this year. Some of his favorites activities include drawing, playing his Nintendo DS, and spending time outdoors. His favorite movie is Wall-E. He loves his sister and takes great care of her. He makes a great big brother!

Will and Shelby bring lots of joy and laughter into this family.
We love them both so much! They are two very special people!

Family Time

Being with family is always the best of times. On Saturday, we celebrated my nephew Austin's birthday at Cici's. He will turn six on October 31st. He is one of sweetest little boys I know. He and Will are good buddies and always have a good time playing together. The kids had fun playing in the arcade and eating pizza. Shelby loved the game where she was able to drive and did not want to get out of her seat! She's learning how to say yes and no right now. We hear a lot of no's these days!

After the party, Blake, Will, Shelby, and I headed to Lexington for the rest of the day. We wanted to do some shopping at the mall. One of Mommy's favorite things to do! We shopped for a few hours and then ate dinner at Abuelo's. Blake and I love their enchiladas. We, of course, got Will Chick-fil-a and Shelby had a little bit of everything. Shelby did pretty well for the most part, but towards the last few minutes of our meal she wanted out of her seat (we are starting to see this more often). She hadn't had much of a nap that day so by the time we got home she was ready for bed and so were we!

Happy Birthday Austin!

Our Future Home

Blake went out to mow our future home land today. After mowing for a couple of hours, the kiddos and I packed ourselves up in the car and headed out to see all he had done. It was a perfect day to be there. Will and Shelby got to run around, enjoy the open air, and play in a small creek that runs through the very back of our property. It was so peaceful out there. We had a great time. We were even greeted by our soon to be neighbors (two friendly dogs). Will is not a big fan of dogs, but somehow managed to get through it. He has seen them once before and started warming up to them a little. Hopefully they'll be big buddies by the time our house gets started.

Playing in the small creek that runs through the back of the property. Will and Shelby will be spending a lot of time here. I'm sure of it!

Doing what little boys do!

Shelby got herself a few dog kisses.

She was super excited about the dogs and said puppy several times.

This is not our barn. It is just two properties down from ours. It makes an excellent backdrop for pictures! I look forward to going out there again!

New Ride

Blake and I are owners of a brand new Scag! It was delivered to our house today. I wish you could have seen how excited Will was when the delivery man pulled into our driveway. He came to us shouting, "The mower's here! Daddy the mower's here!" He was full of excitement and energy. You would have thought Santa had left some presents in the driveway! Blake was super excited about mowing the grass today too! Our current yard is small, but Blake had it mowed in under 20 minutes!!

You're probably wondering why we need such a fancy mower?? Well, a little more than a year ago Blake and I purchased a 3.89 acre farm. In Spring 2010, we will begin building a house there. We are definitely going to need a fast mower, especially if I get to do some of the mowing :)

Our house plans are under way. We met with our builder last week. The next year is going to be a busy one. We are definitely looking forward to the next several months of planning!

Parents Day Out

My oldest niece, Kyla, watched the kids all day Saturday while Blake and I went to the UK vs Alabama football game. We tailgated with my sister and her husband, both before and after the game. Even though the Cats could not pull off a win (like they did in 1997!), we still had a great time.

Commonwealth Stadium was a packed house! We sat near the student section, and it felt like the good ol' days. Blake and I were reminiscing about what happened the night UK defeated Alabama for the second time in history. It was quite a memorable game. One game we'll never forget! Everyone was so excited about their win. One of the goals was literally taken to the ground! If you did not get to see it in 1997, then check this out!
