On Saturday, May 30th, B and I headed to Louisville to see Kenny Chesney perform live in concert at Cardinal Stadium. My mom kept the kids at our house and brought two of my nieces along with her. They were planning to hang out at the house for a while and then take the kids out for dinner.
We arrived at the Stadium around 2:30pm and hung outside the stadium with some friends until the concert began at 4pm. We were in for a real treat. It did not occur to us how lucky we were until we arrived at the stadium. We were located in the Sand Bar section and had backstage passes! If you are not familiar with the Sand Bar section it is right up against the stage. We were within 5-10 feet of all of the music artists, including Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, and Sugarland.
After Montgomery Gentry performed we headed back behind the stage. Our friend who invited us to the concert had a sister who worked for Corona. That is how we got the tickets and backstage passes. We were spoiled! We got to see all the tour buses, including Conrona's tour bus. Corona is the official sponsor of Kenny Chesney's 2009 tour. We actually got to hang out on their tour bus and have a few ice cold drinks. I had never seen a bus look this nice! It was an all leather bus!
After we left the tour bus area, we headed back to see Sugarland perform. Sugarland is one of B's favorite groups. They put on a great performance. We could not believe we were getting to see them perform live in concert. It was truly an awesome experience.
Sometime around 9pm Kenny Chesney was about to make it on stage. By this time, the stadium was completely packed. He, too, put on an awesome show. He was full of energy, and practically made his way all over the stage. He sang just about every song I know. I was about three feet away from him and of course got many great pictures!
B and I had an awesome time! We had no idea we were going until 3 days before the concert took place. I don't think we'll ever want to sit in any other section ever again!
